Enough Rope, the new Siren Songs release from Nashville's most celebrated
non-country singer, Jonell Mosser, is a record of power and passion.  The
CD's 12-tunes, hand-picked by Mosser from a repertoire of hundreds, are
songs that Mosser loves to sing, and, like last year's  So Like Joy,  the
album showcases her remarkable musical and vocal gifts.

"This is the record I always wanted to make," says the Kentucky-born
Mosser. The album kicks off with a channel-surfing radio which stops on
"Red Headed Mama,"  a sparsely accompanied bluesy number written by Mosser and the CD's co-producer Tom Britt:  just a little calm before the storm.

Britt's fine ear and keen intuition come into play on the second track,
"Love Like Rain,"  written by former Band guitarist Jim Weider and
Canadian, Colin Linden.  "At Britt's insistence, we ended up using the
scratch vocal," says Mosser.  The result is a sensuous, soulful, in-the-moment blues rocker.

It is here that the CD kicks into high gear, kicking back frequently in
tempo but rarely in intensity.  Reflective moments include the lovely
Russell Smith/Dave Loggins ballad "Your Love is Working in My Life"; the
melancholy, almost hymn-like "Resurrection Day"; the haunting "Mama's
Dream," produced by George Massenburg and John Hall; and "Peace Stories," a special favorite of Mosser's.

Highlights of the CD are certain to be welcome at radio.  Focus tracks
will include Dana Cooper's "Boney Man," a darkly moving tribute to one of
Mosser's heroes, Townes Van Zandt,  and  Nick Lowe's infectious, uptempo
singalong, "When I Write the Book."

A much sought-after session singer, Jonell Mosser has worked with BB
King, Etta James, Bruce Cockburn, Trisha Yearwood and a laundry list of
other greats.  Her previous Siren Songs release, So Like Joy, charted in AAA, AC and Americana.  Enough Rope's radio action includes pre-release charting in multiple formats.

Here's what some people are saying about Jonell:

"Jonell Mosser draws full houses of paying customers every single time
she sings. Her lures are a fluid, soul-wringing voice and a poised but
marvelously playful stage manner that constitutes a short course in enthrallment.
" - Edward Morris,  Billboard Magazine

"The Queen of Live Music..." - Al Kooper, EQ Magazine

"When Jonell sang, people shut up and flowers grew faster." - Tommy Womack, Cheese Chronicles

"One of the greatest singers in the world, with a direct link from heart  to larynx." - Don Was, quoted in the Washington Post

"With a stage presence approaching Bette Midler and with astonishing  vocal power that nearly matches Tina Turner's, Mosser is the most  bankable act in town." - Bruce Honick, The Nashvillian

"Jonell can wring R&B with as much force, feel and conviction as the  likes of Aretha Franklin or Gladys Knight." - Justin Mitchell, Rocky  Mountain News

"Just real stories, strong feelings, and great music." - Spider Barbour, Woodstock Times

"I was so excited to be nominated with Jonell Mosser. Now people outside of Nashville are going to hear what a great singer she is." - Trisha Yearwood, in reference to the Nashville Music Awards

"She is the record holder on all scores: most bar sales, most door sales,  and best female friend a music-club owner could have." - Amy Kurland, owner of the Bluebird Cafe, quoted in the Nashville  Scene

" I haven't seen charisma like Mosser's since I watched Elvis when he was only 19." - Harlan Howard
