LINKS TO OUR FRIENDS

From the computer of John Hall:

Thanks for visiting Sirensongs.com.
When you're ready to move on, here are some links to check out:

John Hall for Congress - the official campaign site of my run for office in New York's 19th Congressional District.

Tom Rush - groundbreaking folksinger, discovered and recorded songs by writers like Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne before most of us had heard of them. He sings, tells stories and charms an audience in a way that makes a concert hall seem like his living room.

John Cowan - sang "Reach" and "What You Do To Me" with New Grass Revival. His phenomenal voice is equally at home with bluegrass, James Brown or Bob Marley. Fine bass player, too.

Jackson Browne - a songwriter who has influenced me and many others, continues to mix compelling poetic lyrics with unwavering political commitment. Orleans opened for him on the Running On Empty tour.

Freebo - original bassist for Bonnie Raitt and long-time road buddy, pioneered the use of fretless bass in rock'n'roll.

Rory Block - Rory Block is a blues powerhouse, singing and playing guitar with a conviction and passion honed on the delta of the upper Hudson River. I've been lucky to play on a couple of her records, and we've shared the stage for some gigs as well.

Robbie Dupree - singer, songwriter, harmonica player and friend. Co-produced the CD "Recovered".

Livingston Taylor - an extraordinary talent, a one-man band. Liv and I have done many shows together over the years, with hopefully many more to come.

Don Haynie and Sheryl Samuel - Contemporary folk duo. Sheryl’s use of percussion interwoven with Don’s six- and twelve-string guitars gives their music a rhythmic drive rarely found in contemporary acoustic music.

Robbie Dupree  -  friend and co-producer of Orleans Live Volumes 1 and 2 CDs, as well as my Recovered, Robbie is a Grammy-nominated artist who also happens to be a virtuoso harmonica player.

Dancing Light - My friends and Minnesota originals Kiki and Greg Webb make heartfelt, melodic music with an uplifting message.  Kiki is also the Queen of Webb Designs.

OrleansOnline.com  -  the new website of the band I've spent most of the last thirty-three years working with.  Our latest CD, "Dancin' In The Moonlight" is here.

Little Feat - When my eponymous solo record was released in 1978 I was lucky to be able to tour with Feat for three months. Lowell and Paul honored me by asking me to play lead on "All That You Dream" on the Last Record Album. Lowell George will always be sorely missed, but this band still has a sound and groove that many have copied but none have equaled.

Tony Levin - My friend and bass player non pareil, who has his own little record company called Papa Bear.

Marianne Osiel - a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist I met in Nashville, where you could find her performing at songwriters' nights, doing backup vocal sessions, writing string charts or playing oboe with the Nashville Symphony. She was in my band for a while, and sang on the "Love Doesn't Ask" CD. Marianne also has released two fine CDs of her own songs.

Jim Weider - Jim Weider was working at an electronics store in Woodstock called Sound-In when I first met him. I've watched him grow into a fine guitar player with a style of his own. Jim played withThe Band, and has a solo CD out as well.

BMI - Broadcast Music, Incorporated, performing rights society which has represented me since the beginning of my songwriting career.

EMI - EMI Music Publishing handles administration for much of the Siren Songs catalog.

Jay and Molly.com - Friends and esteemed musicians Jay Ungar and Molly Mason are a walking and picking library of American roots music.

Jon Pousette-Dart
The Pousette-Dart Band opened to Orleans many times in the seventies, and were always a hard act to follow.  Their founder, the silken-voiced songwriter and slide  player Jon Pousette-Dart, has a new solo CD.
